Data and privacy laws across international borders are one of the most challenging aspects of international business today. The most-stringent data protection laws are probably found in the European Union (EU), where the Data Privacy Directive governs all personally identifiable information (PII) use.
In the EU, organizations using ]po[ need to ensure that the collection, storage and processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the Community rules protecting the freedoms and fundamental rights of individuals, in particular Directives 95/46/EC and 2002/58/EC.
[...]
]po[ keeps two log files that are usually frequently being deleted:
a) HTTP interaction log file (default: projop.log.[TIMESTAMP])
In the default configuration tracked data includes:
b) DEBUG logfile (error.log)
The DEBUG log file only contains personal data if its logging has been explicitly forced by a programmer. In some rare cases this might be necessary to support application debugging. However, productive systems are configured in a way that debugging is switched off. The feature is only used in STAGING and DEVELOPMENT systems.
